More on Mr Baai Jabang...
Baai Jabang comes from Gunjur in The Gambia and worked for some years with Concern Universal (now named United Purpose) and also with Gamcotrap (one of the leading organisations tackling the problem of FGM in The Gambia).
He was appointed two years ago as Director of TARUD (Trust Agency for Rural Development) the NGO with which the Marlborough Brandt Group has worked since it was set up in 1997. He is responsible for their development programme in Gunjur and the Kombo South region of The Gambia. The Marlborough Fairtrade Group with colleagues from Tesco and the new Charity “Thriving Through Venture” is exploring the potential for exporting mangoes from The Gambia to UK under Fairtrade conditions. Baai works closely with the Gunjur Mango Growers Cooperative and will speak about their work on Saturday 5th May 2018 in Calne Town Hall at 11.00am and in Marlborough later in the evening. All are welcome to these events. See posters below to download...
