Fairtrade Fortnight 2023 - Monday February 27 - Sunday March 12th

Calne Fairtrade at the 2023 Calne Summer Carnival 2023
This Fairtrade Fortnight, join us in spreading a simple message:
making the small switch to Fairtrade supports producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.

Did you know cocoa, bananas and coffee could soon be much more difficult to find on our shelves?
Climate change is making crops like these harder and harder to grow.
Combined with deeply unfair trade, communities growing these crops are being pushed to the brink.
But here’s the good news.
More of us choosing Fairtrade means extra income, power, and support for those communities.
By making the small switch to Fairtrade, we can all support producers in protecting the future of some of our most-loved food and the planet.
On-Line Events from The Fairtrade Foundation

This year the Fairtrade Foundation are running free online

Big Fairtrade Get Togethers

Sign up to these exciting live events to hear from
Fairtrade farmers and other experts
on how we can have a sustainable future for our favourite foods. These free events will run throughout Fairtrade Fortnight and are open to everyone.

If you’re organising a local event, you could tune in to these
Big Fairtrade Get Togethers as a group.

There will be chances to ask questions of our expert panel too.

THE ENDANGERED AISLE
As part of Fairtrade Fortnight 2023, on Tuesday 28 February, Fairtrade launches the Endangered Aisle. This will be a pop-up experience in Shoreditch, East London. It will be open to the public from 28 February – 2 March.

The Endangered Aisle will shine a light on the supermarket staples most at risk of becoming endangered from the climate crisis, including coffee, bananas and chocolate.

As part of the launch, Fairtrade will release new research highlighting how climate change is endangering the future of supermarket staples grown by farmers overseas.
These findings will be showcased at the Endangered Aisle and available on this website (www.fairtrade.org).
