The “Thriving Through Venture” programme involves some of the students learning photographic arts and going on to use them to capture images of those “Lives Lived” and members of these two different but partnered communities.

An evening of dramatic readings presented by students of
St Mary’s School Calne. 


The readings of the Stories of Lives Lived will be supported  by authentic Gambian music from a KSA Gambian Band  based in Bristol.

A “Thriving through Venture” storytelling project by secondary school students capturing the elements of the lives lived by elderly members from  communities in the Marlborough area, and from the partner community of Gunjur in The Gambia.

Students from St Mary’s School Calne, Marlborough College, St John’s Academy, Marlborough and The Ridgeway School, Wroughton and St Barts, Newbury have captured these life stories as part of a background of research and exchange of ideas which includes discovering how Mangoes and Mango products can be marketed under FAIRTRADE conditions in the UK to the mutual benefit of both communities.

KSA(KOMBO SILLAH ASSOCIATION UK) is a Bristol based Gambian Charity whose aim is to cement Social Cohesion and Community Integration. It mounts cultural events and combats poverty and abuse... READ more.
